      Pennsport

Ideal for residents who want to be closer to I-95 and waterfront living, Pennsport is bound by 4th St & the Delaware River and Washington & Snyder Avenues.

Home to the first US naval yard off of Federal St and the river between 1801 and 1875, passersby can still admire a few ships that have stood proudly for decades, such as the U.S.S. Olympia, the nation’s oldest floating steel warship.

The Delaware River waterfront also offers a variety of piers, parks, and entertainment.   For a home with a spectacular waterfront view, buyers can explore the condominiums at Waterfront Square, Dockside, Pier 3, and Pier 5, just to name a few.

The other side of Pennsport is on dry land and home to the Mummers, colorful paraders with over 100 years of tradition. Visit the Mummer’s Museum and prepared to be wowed. 2nd Street, better known to locals as “Two Street” is home to many close-knit neighborhood pubs supported by the Mummers and is the site for the biggest party in the City on New Year’s Eve!

Like much of South Philadelphia, quaint rowhomes line the streets.   The social / restaurant scene is growing and the area is becoming increasingly popular for residents year after year.
